NHS counter fraud have been notified of a text scam that has been sent to patients purporting to be from their GP practice. The text could easily be mistaken as a legitimate notification as the recipient’s mobile will show the text grouped with legitimate texts from their own GP practice.
The message advises them that they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Omicron and that they must order a test kit using a link within the text. The link then asks for a payment of £0.99 for postage.
This is a scam and should be ignored and deleted.
Face Masks & Coverings, For the sake of everyone's safety, we will still be expecting Patients attending the Practice to continue to wear Face Masks or Coverings. Thank You

We have temporarily suspended the booking of routine appointments, to allow us to concentrate on providing urgent care.
To reduce your chances of catching
COVID-19 and reduce pressure on your local GP practice during this busy time, appointments will be carried out mainly over the phone unless there is a clinical need for you to come into the practice, which will be decided by a Clinician. This will help minimise risk while continuing to ensure people get the care and advice they need.
SATURDAY OPENING...
In line with NHS England guidance, we will be suspending Saturday Morning opening as of April to allow us to concentrate on the Covid vaccination programme.
We are regularly sending staff to our vaccination Hub at The Springs Health Centre, often run at weekends, as well as running additional Covid vaccination clinics here at Barlborough. This is in line with current NHS England guidance to Practices.

Named Accountable GP for all Patients
As Detailed in our new contract with the Department of Health, we are required to allocate a named accountable GP to all patients. Actually, this has always been the case as when you register with us, you are allocated a "registered GP" who will normally be one of the GP Partners at the Practice. When a Patient registers with us, their registered GP will either be Dr Palmer or Dr Gardner.
Your named GP is responsible for your overall care at the Practice.
If you wish to know which GP Partner is your named accountable GP, you are welcome to ask. If you have a preference as to which GP partner it is, then if you inform us, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such a request. Your named accountable GP will take lead responsibility
for your care.

Primary care services in Derbyshire are available 24/7, 365 days a year. General Practice and Primary Care Health Centres open 08:00 – 18:30 and Out of Hours services delivered by DHU 111 are provided 18:30 – 08:00. Derbyshire Primary Care is a 24-hour, 365 days a year service across Core Hours in General Practice and Primary Care Health Centres between 08:00-18:30 and Out of Hours delivered by DHU 111 from 18:30 – 08:00.
GP Practices have analysed patient demand in the run up to Christmas and New Year in 2019 and 2020. This data shows there is a greater demand for appointments in the days prior to bank holidays and lower demand on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, particularly in the afternoons. GP practices are therefore working together to ensure more capacity and appointments are available at the beginning of the weeks leading up to Christmas and New Year. This means practices will be working very hard to clear tasks, results, home visits and triage to ensure a smooth transition to the Out of Hours GP service operated by DHU from 16:00 hours on 24th December and 31st December 2021.
IF YOU REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION WHILST THE SURGERY IS CLOSED PLEASE DIAL 111 TO ACCESS THE OUT OF HOURS SERVICE RUN BY DERBYSHIRE HEALTH UNITED. IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY PLEASE DIAL 999
